Currently, Adventists hold 28 fundamental beliefs that can be organized into six catagories — the doctrines of God, man, salvation, the church, the Christian life and last day events. In each teaching, God is the architect, who in wisdom, grace and infinite love, is restoring a relationship with humanity that will last for eternity.

Genesis And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Job All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils. At death the body returns to dust while the spirit is said to return to God who gave it. Ecclesiastes Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.

When we are born our breath, as drawn from the surrounding atmosphere, may be said to come from or be given by God and with the same propriety may it be said, when it leaves the body at death to return unto Him. At death the breath or spirit of man is said to be gathered unto God.

Job If he set his heart upon man, if he [God] gather unto himself his spirit and his breath. Luke And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. Psalm Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. Ecclesiastes For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.

Isaiah Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of? Man has no pre-eminence over animals. We all die the same. It cannot be proved whether the spirit goes up or downward. Ecclesiastes For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.

The breath of life is the spirit which God has given both man and beast. It is common to all living things and is not a distinguishing characteristic of man. The dead cannot praise God. Psalms What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? Psalms For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks? But God can reverse the death process by creating new bodies and renewing the spirit or breath in them.

Psalms Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.

Death is compared to sleep so there must be some analogy between a state of sleep and a state of death, and this analogy must pertain to that which renders sleep a peculiar condition. Our condition in sleep differs from our condition when awake simply in this, that when we are soundly asleep, we are entirely unconscious.

In this respect death is like sleep; that is, the dead are unconscious. This figure is frequently used to represent the condition of the dead.

Facts and False Doctrines of the Seventh Day Adventist Church

Daniel And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. Matthew And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose. Christ himself represented death as a sleep saying Lazarus was asleep in death.

Lazarus would have remained unconscious sleeping in the grave until the resurrection had he not been raised by Christ. John Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. At death Stephen commended his spirit to God. His spirit being departed he fell asleep becoming unconscious. And when he had said this, he fell asleep. Luke And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost John Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father.

Job But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?This page is for Seventh day Adventists and those who follow the Spirit of Prophecy. Most Christians are not aware that history and the Bible reveal that the Adventist Church was specifically raised by God to restore a lost Commandment, teach end time Bible prophecy and prepare the world for the upcoming mark of the beast.

However, in so saying, it is tragic that Satan slowly over time succeeded in bringing the trinity doctrine into the Adventist Church. People from the Vatican have also found their way into the Adventist Church and some have even been caught.

This is not something members want to hear, but it is something that they should expect since God said that Satan would make war with His remnant. Revelation It is up to Adventists to research this and take back the truth they once had, not just deny that it has happened. Mueller's explanation of the trinity doctrine is the same as the basics of the Athanasian Creed. This is the creed upon which the entirety of the Roman Catholic faith is built.

The Athanasian Creed Roman Catholic Creed says that the one God is three divine personalities in one indivisible substance or essence. This is now the official faith of Seventh day Adventists. Note that some Adventist Trinitarians try and defend their belief by attempting to discredit the above facts.

The Scriptures were not literal. I trust that no one will claim that just because these things are Catholic that it does not mean they are not false! They are Catholic and they are just as false as the trinity doctrine that came from the same source. The continued response to hide the facts is to claim the Catholic doctrine of the trinity has differences from the Seventh day Adventist doctrine, which is not true. On some points the Adventist Church does differ from orthodoxy, but regarding the basic premise and pagan part of this doctrine, meaning that the one God is three persons in one and that the Holy Spirit is another literal being, it is exactly the same and they fail to mention this significant fact.

The image above shows the Shield of the Trinity for the Catholic Church and for the Adventist Church and they are exactly the same in this respect. They had acted from choice. But in pretending to be wrought upon by the Holy Ghost, and attempting to deceive the apostles, they had lied to the Almighty.

White, 3SP White, 7T Either of these verses alone reveals the error as they both exclude Christ when they say there is only one God. So the only contradiction is a belief in the trinity. It is this one indivisible nature part of the teaching which is problematic. Where did this originate? After God confused the languages at Babel, the sun began to be worshipped in three stages as three gods. That is, the rising sun was god, the midday sun was god, the setting sun was god, and yet there were not three gods but one god!

So it first came from sun and Satan worship and then entered the Church much later through Greek philosophy in the council of Nicea AD. What scripture did they have?

At least not until our adversary succeeded in adding his support to the Bible. So what is the true origin? The Adventist Biblical Research Institute also admits it. So they are not following their own advice and need this verse to support what they now believe. Because without this added text, the trinity doctrine does not exist in the Bible. It is simply an assumption based on human logic.Ellen G.

Profile available. Some suggested revised chronologies and new dates, eventually forming groups such as the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. Others, notably Hiram Edson and Ellen G. White, suggested that the date was accurate but that a heavenly thus invisible event had taken place. Their teachings became the basis of Seventh-day Adventism, which eventually spawned its own offshoots, including Armstrongism and the Branch Davidians. Generally the view that the Old Testament Sabbath commandment is to be observed unchanged by the church.

As used in this index, Sabbatarianism refers to an extreme form of the belief in which membership in the true church, or even salvation, is conditional upon keeping the Sabbath law.

As such, Sabbatarianism is at the least a form of legalism and at most a denial of salvation by grace. In most cases, the Jewish Sabbath Saturday must be observed by refraining from work, sports, and travel from sundown Friday evening to sundown Saturday evening.

Evangelical from the Greek euangelion, good news or gospel generally means a focus on the essentials of Christianity. The term can be used to describe all Christians or churches that hold to or give heavy emphasis to specific conservative Protestant beliefs. More specifically the term has come to be closely identified with a widespread trans-denominational shift towards more conservative Christian doctrine that developed after World War II.

See Fundamental Christianity. The doctrine and message of the gospel that eternal life is not gained by or conditioned on works but is an undeserved and free gift from God received through faith in Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior who died for our sins and rose from the dead.

Contrasted with salvation by works. One of the unique doctrines of the Seventh-day Adventist Church that make the place of that church within evangelical Christianity questionable.

First taught in Adventism by Hiram Edson, F. Hahn, and O. The doctrine teaches that in the Holy of Holies in the Heavenly Sanctuary Christ is now conducting an investigation into the lives of all who have ever professed belief in Christ. All those whose lives fail to measure up to the standard of the Law are rejected and condemned as not having true faith.

It declares that those who have remained loyal to God shall receive the kingdom. Profile on SDA available.

Holsey, D.But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

So far so good, this is Biblical. The question is then raised in the magazine: Why didn't God just destroy Lucifer and the angels that sinned?

That way, instead of being afraid of God, they could praise Him for the great wisdom He showed in dealing with the problem. Jesus said that Hell was created for the Devil and his angels. That sounds like FEAR to me! In order to escape the death penalty, each person would have to make a personal choice between Satan's way of life and God's.

Each person would have to believe that God's rescue plan was real and that it was real for him or her. And each person would have to declare his or her loyalty to God and His way of life. Not at all. There is no requirement in the Gospel to forsake Satan's way of life and embrace God's way of life, and be loyal to Him, for salvation.

For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospelwhich ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

So far so good, that is Biblical. However, God's loyal angels fought a battle several thousand years ago in which they cast Satan and his disloyal angels out of heaven, and I'm certain they don't want to let anyone back into heaven whose disloyalty might start the whole conflict all over again.

No one is worthy in God's eyes, which is why we need a worthy Savior. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation. It is heresy for SDA's to teach that the Lord is involved in some End Time judgment, that is exclusive only to Seventh-day Adventism, and was invented by Seventh-day Adventists in According to page 11 of the Signs Of The Times issue that I am quoting from, they say that God keeps record books in Heaven, which is very true.

These are very strange doctrines indeed. White They're literally teaching that Jesus entered into the heavenly sanctuary Holy Place into judge each human being on the basis of their faith and works or lack thereofso that the remaining angels wouldn't rebel against God if they misunderstood the facts. If any man is allowed into Heaven, in spite of his sinful past and self-induced failures in life, SDA dogma says that God must first convince the angels that He's not letting dangerous criminals into their peaceful presence.

There's not an angel in Heaven who doesn't fully realize that not one human being is worthy of God's love, grace or mercy. We all deserve to burn in the Lake of Fire for all eternity without end. Satan accuses imperfect Christians, just like the heathen world does, and worldly believers who accuse each other.

We're never more like Satan than when we accuse others of their past faults, shortcomings and sins. Effectively, this is salvation by works. Like most psuedo-Christian religious cults, SDA's often engage in forked-tongued double-talk. By the way, this is exactly what Lordship Salvation teaches! The Holy Bible has much more to say about Hell than Heaven. How can SDA's deny the reality of eternal punishment in a lake that burns with fire and brimstone?John ESV.
